The 8 principles of Governance and the 50-year Charter which was initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who is the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE, has been set into action with upcoming developments adhering to the principles. As announced by the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Charter will contribute to the evolution and expansion of increasing the living standards and quality of life of Dubai’s residents.
The multiplying demand in the energy section is a major consideration in the development plans of the city where the 8 Principles of governance and the Charter will serve as a framework for strategically guiding the schemes. Introducing newer technologies to foster sustainable solutions to these demands will give way to achieving the Charter’s objectives and meeting the set standards.
Believing in the principles of Governance and the Charter the MD & CEO of DEWA (Dubai Electricty and Water Authority), HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, promotes the idea of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to have a comfortable and sustainable living for the residents of Dubai. He also guaranteed to follow through with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and bring comfort and ease through a sustainable lifestyle, to the people.
Etihad Energy Services Company (Etihad ESCO) will oversee the project implementation and place energy saving lights as well as water savers so as to limit and restrict the use of resources. On 17th January 2019, the proposal was put forward which received 13 bids from companies listed under the Shams Dubai initiative. The bids were evaluated and resulted in 6 companies being given the order and opportunity to carry the plan forward according to the DEWA’s set criteria.
